Women's Basketball Celebrates New Year's Eve With 4 PM Tip At CSUN

The UC Riverside women’s basketball team will look to pick up its first victory of the Big West season on Saturday, December 31 as the team travels to Cal State Northridge for a 4:00 pm tip in Northridge, CA.

The Highlanders dropped their league opener 70-59 at Long Beach State on Thursday, but UCR has dropped conference openers in each of the last two seasons. In both those years, UC Riverside eventually posted an 11-5 mark in conference play.

Tre’Shonti Nottingham now paces the Highlanders offense with 13.6 points per game, while Natasha Hadley is right behind her averaging 13.3 ppg.

Cal State Northridge enters Saturday’s game with a 6-7 overall mark and a 1-0 record in Big West play after upending UC Irvine 55-49 on December 29. Jasmine Erving leads the Matadors in scoring with 15.6 points per game and 8.8 rebounds a game.

The Highlanders have won the last nine meetings against the Matadors and own the all-times series 31-22.
