Women's Tennis Wins Third Straight With 5-2 Victory At CSUB

Bakersfield, CA - The UC Riverside women's tennis team won its third straight match with a 5-2 victory at CSU Bakersfield on Saturday afternoon.
The Highlanders (3-1) swept the doubles matches to win the first point, and proceeded to win four of six in singles to take home the win.
UCR's duo of Jamie and Taylor Raney defeated Mannix/Limpias in a close 9-8 (8-6) battle at No. 1 doubles. Nadia Sakhakorn and Natalie McKay won 8-6 at No. 2, and Angelique Corpuz and Kate Bergeson made quick work of their opponents 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.
Jamie Raney followed up her doubles match win with a 6-2, 6-4 singles win at No. 2, while Sakhakorn lost just two points in her 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3.
McKay defeated Veronica Dimas at No. 4 singles 6-4, 6-1, and Bergeson won her match at No. 6 in closer fashion, upending Julie Hutton 6-3, 7-5.
The Highlanders continue their five-match road swing on Thursday, February 17 at Loyola Marymount at 1:30 pm.
