UCR Wins Three Singles Matches But Drops Doubles Point In 4-3 Loss At LMU

Los Angeles, CA - The UC Riverside women's tennis team had its three-match winning streak broken at Loyola Marymount on Thursday afternoon, dropping a heart breaker 4-3.
The Highlanders won the No. 3 doubles match, but could not win at the other two spots as the Lions opened the match with the first point.
In singles action, Taylor Raney defeated Elisaveta Pironkova at No. 1 6-2, 5-7, 6-1, while Angelique Corpuz won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5, and Kate Bergeson won 3-4 ret. inj at No. 6. The three singles wins weren't enough, however, as UCR needed to win four to claim the victory.
The Highlanders now head to Las Vegas, NV to play Utah State on Saturday, February 19 at 10:00 am.
