Men's Tennis Drops 5-2 Contest To Gonzaga

Riverside, CA - Quoc Doan and Felix Macherez won their matches at Nos. 1 and 2 singles respectively on Thursday afternoon for the UC Riverside men's tennis team, but it wasn't enough as Gonzaga won 5-2 over the Highlanders.
Macherez and Austin Andres paired up at No. 2 doubles and won 8-4 over Ismath/Davis, but UCR's other two matches were close 8-6 losses.
"We lost Nos. 1 and 3 by one break, so we had opportunites there," Head Coach York Strother stated.
Needing to win at least four matches in singles play to get the victory, Doan and Macherez did their part at the top flight, but the rest of the squad fell just short.
The Highlanders break for finals week and return to action for a three-game road trip beginning on Tuesday, March 22 at Saint Mary's.
