Women's Hoops Travels To Colorado For WNIT Thursday At 6 PM PST

The UC Riverside women’s basketball team will play in its second-ever Postseason Women’s NIT on Thursday, March 17 as they travel to Boulder, CO to face Colorado for a 6:00 pm PST tip.
This marks the fifth time in the last six years that the Highlanders have reached postseason play. UCR won the Big West Tournament and earned NCAA berths in the 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2009-10 seasons. In 2008-09, the team was selected to its first-ever postseason WNIT.
Fans who are unable to travel to Colorado to attend the Highlanders WNIT first round game may follow all of the action as the Voice of the Highlanders, Ghizal Hasan, brings the call from courtside to gohighlanders.com. Live video of the game is available through CUBuffsTV for $6.95.
The Highlanders and Buffaloes have met just once before with CU coming out on top, 63-50, on December 29, 2000. Colorado enters Thursday’s contest with a 15-15 overall record and 6-10 mark in Big 12 play. Brittany Spears leads the Buffaloes in scoring averaging 18.1 points per game.
UC Riverside won a season-best six games in a row before falling to UC Davis in the Big West Tournament semifinals last week. The Highlanders boast four players in double figure scoring led by Tre’Shonti Nottingham’s 13.6 points a game.
