Highlanders Hang Tough In Doubles Matches But Fall 7-0 To Matadors

Riverside, CA - The UC Riverside women's tennis team hung tough in doubles matches but could not pull out the win as they fell 7-0 to Cal State Northridge on Saturday afternoon in Big West Conference action.
At No. 1 doubles, UCR's due of Jamie and Taylor Raney dropped a close 8-7 match to the #77 ranked team in the country, Doane and Sher. At No. 2, Natalie McKay and Nadia Sakhakorn also lost a tightly contested match 8-5.
In singles play, Jamie Raney came back from a 7-5 loss in the first set at No. 3 to win the second set 6-1 before falling in the tiebreaker. McKay's match at No. 4 was also close, but she could not hold on dropping a 6-2, 6-3 match.
The Highlanders return to the courts at Pacific on Saturday, April 9 at 11:00 am in Stockton, CA.
