Riverside—The UC Riverside softball team travels to Cal State Northridge this weekend for its final league road series of the season. Saturday's doubleheader begins at 12 pm, with Sunday's finale slated for noon. Live stats.

GAME NOTES
POWER SURGE
UC Riverside had a grand total of two home runs in its 25 non-conference games, but in league play, the Highlanders have been queens of the long ball as they’ve hit a Big West-best 14 homers. Leading the charge has been Kameryn Hebenton with four jacks.

POWER SURGE II
The Highlanders hit three home runs in game two of the Pacific doubleheader on April 22, which tie for the third-most home runs in a single game in the Division I history of the program.

POWER SURGE III
From April 16-30 of this year, the Highlanders hit at least one home in each of their six games during that span. The six-game streak ties the UCR Division I record for most consecutive games with at least one home run.

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN
As a team, the Highlanders led the Big West with 53 stolen bases and 57 attempts in 2010. In fact, UCR became the first team in league history to record 50+ stolen bases while not being caught at least 10 times.

The 53 stolen bases in 2010 set the Highlanders Division I program record for most stolen bases in a single-season, but so far in 2011, UCR has already broken that record with 57 stolen bases in 68 attempts.

AGGIE STAMPEDE
UCR allowed UC Davis to score 17 runs against them in an April 30 loss—the most runs allowed against a Big West opponent in the program's DI history.

BRINGING OUT THE BROOMS
UC Riverside was handed its first sweep of the season on April 22-23 as the team dropped all three games to Pacific. It was the first time the Highlanders had been swept in league play since the end of the 2010 season.

TODAY'S HIGH
The Highlanders scored a season-high 11 runs in their 13-11 loss to Boise State on February 25, and tied that mark at UC Santa Barbara in an 11-8 win on April 17. The 11 runs scored are the most since the team plated that many against Harvard on March 14, 2010. The 13-11 loss to the Broncos is also the most runs scored in a loss in the Division I history of the program.

NO HIT
UC Santa Barbara shutout the Highlanders and held them hitless in a 3-0 loss on April 16. It was the first time the team had been no-hit all season, and just the third in program Division I history. The last two occasions came during the 2002 campaign.

SPEED DEMONS
The Highlanders set a Division I, single-game program record with eight stolen bases against Saint Louis on March 11.

DOUBLE VISION
Brittany Keeney has recorded 13 doubles through the first 40 games of the season, already setting the Division I era record for most doubles in a season. The UCR all-time record for most doubles in a season is 18. Keeney is currently ranked 26th in the nation in doubles per game.

NOT SO SWEET 16
UC Riverside pounded out a season-high 16 hits in a 12-9 loss to Idaho State on March 4. The 16 hits tie the Division I record for most hits in a single game.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
UC Riverside sophomore Kayla White was named Big West Conference Player of the Week on February 14 after hitting .529 and slugging .765 during the Highlanders opening weekend tournament in Las Vegas. White recorded nine hits in 17 at bats, hitting safely in all five games at the UNLV Sportco Kick-Off Classic. She tied her career-high with three hits against UNLV on Friday, and set a career-high with two runs in UCR's 7-6 win against Mississippi State on Saturday.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
UC Riverside junior Jordyn McDonald was named the Big West Conference's Pitcher of the Week on February 21 after going 1-1 over the weekend with a 1.00 ERA. McDonald picked up her first win of the season in a 6-1 victory over Minnesota on Friday, February 18. She pitched all seven innings scattering four hits while striking out seven. In a 4-0 loss to Loyola Marymount on Sunday, February 20, McDonald gave up just one earned run while striking out four in 7.0 innings of work.

NOT THE RECORD YOU WANT BROKEN
The Highlanders allowed #10 Washington to score 23 runs against them on February 11, breaking the program's Division I record for most runs allowed.

DID U C L A LOSE?
The Highlanders upset the No. 5 team in the nation on March 3, 2010 with their 3-2 victory over UCLA. That win marked the first victory over a ranked opponent in the program's Division I history. UCLA went on to win the 2010 NCAA National Championship.

ALL-BIG WEST
The UC Riverside softball team placed two players on the 2010 All-Big West Team. Marissa Alvidrez earned a Second Team nod at the designated player position, while Brittany Keeney nabbed an Honorable Mention accolade at first base.

With this award, Alvidrez earned her sixth-career Big West All-Conference selection. She was previously named Honorable Mention as both a utility and designated player in 2007, Second Team as a designated player and First Team as a utility in 2008, and Honorable Mention as a designated player in 2009.

Brittany Keeney earned her second Big West All-Conference award as she was previously named to the Honorable Mention team as a freshman in the 2009 season.
