San Diego, CA - The UC Riverside volleyball team opened its second weekend of tournament play on Friday with a 3-0 loss to Missouri State at the USD Invitational.

After losing the first set 25-15, the Highlanders (1-4) battled in the second set before losing 25-23. In the third, MSU (3-1) led from the beginning and used a 5-1 run to close out the match and win 25-18.

Bianca Endersby led UC Riverside with 10 kills while Shelby LeDuff added nine, and Amanda Vialpando recorded eight kills and a game-high 13 digs.

Missouri State's Karen Rivatto led all players with 14 kills on the day.

The Highlanders continue play at the USD Invitational on Saturday with a 10:00 am match against the host Toreros--ranked 20th in the country--followed by a 5:00 pm contest against Northeastern.
