Riverside, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Basketball Team returns home this weekend to host Northern Colorado on Saturday, December 1 beginning at 7 pm PT at the SRC Arena.
The Highlanders made their way back to the Inland Empire from Anchorage, Alaska on Sunday evening following their trip to the 2012 CARRS/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout. UCR now has three players averaging double figures in scoring led by freshman Josh Fox's 11.0 points per game. He is followed by Chris Harriel's 10.6 and Chris Patton's 10.3.
The Bears are 1-3 after their 85-69 loss at Colorado State on Monday. Northern Colorado utilizes a deep rotation with nine members of the team averaging more than 12 minutes per game, and none averaging more than 29.5. The team's leading scorer is Tevin Svihovec who is averaging 10.8 points per game. He is followed closely by Rim Huskisson at 10.2. Five other Bears average at least 7.2 points per game.
UNC's lone win of the season came in a 127-81 decision against Southwest (NM). Their other two losses are to Big West foe Cal Poly, 64-53, and Wyoming, 69-60.
This is the first-ever meeting between the Highlanders and Bears.
