College Sports Madness Names Juan Mendoza, Eric Gonzalez All-Big West In Men's Soccer

Riverside—CollegeSportsMadness.com released its 2012 Madness Big West Men's Soccer All-Conference Teams today, and midfielder Juan Mendoza earned first-team honors while midfielder Eric Gonzalez was named to the second team.
The Highlanders set program Division I era records for wins (10), goals (37) and assists (40) this season, and Mendoza and Gonzalez played significant roles in the team's success.
Mendoza's eight assists led the squad while tying the UCR record originally set by Juan Gutierrez during the 2002 campaign. Three of those assists were game-winners, and his 0.444 assists per match is tops in the Big West heading into the postseason.
Gonzalez finished right behind Mendoza with seven assists, and his 0.438 assists per match are the second most in the conference.
