Norman, OK - The UC Riverside Women's Basketball Team concluded its road trip Thursday evening with a 70-46 loss at #18 Oklahoma at the Lloyd Noble Center.

Tre'Shonti Nottingham paced the Highlanders (6-4) with 14 points while Natasha Hadley added 12 . Aaryn Ellenberg had a game-high 27 to lead the Sooners (9-2), while Nicole Griffin chipped in with 18.

The 46 points scored by the Highlanders is a season-low.

Ellenberg had eight of the Sooners first 10 points of the game as OU quickly established a 13-2 lead after four and a half minutes of play. The Highlanders defense kicked into gear at that point, though, allowing just one Oklahoma field goal in the next 10 attempts. UCR's offense came alive too, as they scored eight of the next 10 points to cut the lead to 15-10 at the 11:21 mark.

Consecutive baskets by Oklahoma made it a nine point game, 21-12, but back-to-back layups from Nottingham again made it a five point lead, 21-16, with 5:24 left in the half.

The Highlanders would get as close as four on two occasions, the last after an Akilah Martin layup at the 4:06 mark, but the Sooners made a run to conclude the half, scoring eight of the final 10 points to take a 32-22 lead into the break.

OU's hot shooting continued into the second period as they hit four straight from downtown and 14 of 16 to open a 46-24 lead with 15 minutes remaining. UC Riverside's offense went cold during that span as they hit just 1-of-11 from the field.

A layup by Janelle Kearney broke up the run, but the Sooners responded with seven unanswered points as the lead grew to 53-26 with 10 minutes to go. The Highlanders never got closer than 22 the rest of the way as the Sooners had the victory in hand.

For the game, OU shot 42.1 percent from the field while UCR was limited to 31.7 percent. UC Riverside did pick up 10 steals on the day, and forced 16 OU turnovers.

The Highlanders now break for the holidays and return to action on Saturday, December 29 to host UNLV at 5 pm PT at the SRC Arena in Riverside.
