Highlanders Sweep Doubles Point En Route To 5-2 Victory Against Portland

Riverside, CA—The UC Riverside Women's Tennis Team bounced back from a 4-3 loss on Wednesday afteroon defeating the Portland Pilots by a score of 5-2 at the SRC Tennis Courts.
The Highlanders swept the doubles point with each team winning by identical 8-4 scores.
In singles play, UCR won four of the six matches to secure the victory.
Taylor Raney lost just a point in her 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4, while Courtney Pattugalan allowed just two points in a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5.
Natalie McKay clinched the match for the Highlanders as she came in with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at No. 3. Kat Saltarelli won in a tiebreaker, 6-4, 2-6 (12-10), to give UCR its final point of the match.
UC Riverside now takes a break from action for finals, and returns to the courts on April 5 against UC Irvine.
