Highlanders Men's Tennis Wins Second Straight, 4-3 Over Seattle

Las Vegas, NV - The UC Riverside men's tennis team won its second straight match on Sunday morning, defeating Seattle University 4-3 in a neutral-site contest.
The Highlanders got things going by winning the doubles point, taking two of three matches. Austin Andres and Felix Macherez won 8-4 at No. 1, and Simon Peters and Jimmy Roberts partnered up to win 8-3 at No. 3.
In singles action, UC Riverside won at the top three flights, but dropped matches at Nos. 4-6.
Macherez defeated Mark Shkrebtan 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 while Roberts won 6-3, 6-4 over Simon Meske at No. 2, and Andres defeated Kevin Lynch 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3.
Two of UCR's losses in the bottom flight were close, as Luis Gastao lost in the third set, and Peters dropped his in a tiebreakter.
The Highlanders remain in Las Vegas and will look to win their third match in as many days on Monday, March 26 as they face Idaho State at 9:00 am.
