Aggies Pick Up 5-2 Victory Over UC Riverside Men's Tennis

Davis, CA - The UC Riverside men's tennis team traveled north to UC Davis on Saturday afternoon for a Big West Conference match, but fell 5-2 to the Aggies.
UCR's duo of Austin Andres and Felix Macherez won their match at No. 1 doubles, 8-0, over Kyle Miller and Toki Sherbakov. The Highlanders almost took the doubles point but lost a tight 8-6 battle at No. 3, as the Aggies won at No. 2 doubles for the first point of the match.
In singles, Andres remained perfect winning at No. 3 over Chris Aria, 6-3, 6-4. Luis Gastao defeated Hugo Verdi-Fortin at No. 4, 4-6, 6-4, 3-2 retired, for UCR's second point of the match.
Kelly Dickson lost in three sets at No 6, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, and Jimmy Roberts likewise lost in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, at No. 2, as UC Davis won four of the six singles matches to claim the 5-2 victory.
The Highlanders remain on the road for a 1:30 pm match at Pacific on Sunday, April 15.
