Women's Basketball Looks For Second Straight Win Saturday At UC Irvine

Irvine, CA—The UC Riverside Women’s Basketball Team won its first Big West Conference game of the season Thursday at Long Beach State, and will look to make it two in a row as they travel to UC Irvine on Saturday, January 19 for a 4 pm PT tip at the Bren Center.

Tre’Shonti Nottingham hit the game-winning free throw with two seconds remaining to give the Highlanders the win over the 49ers, snapping a three-match skid in the process (box score/recap).

UC Irvine is 0-5 in league play after dropping a 65-51 decision to Cal State Fullerton Thursday evening. The Anteaters are averaging 53.9 points per game this season and are led offensively by Camille Buckley’s 10.3 ppg and Jennifer Tsurumoto’s 9.7.
