Women's Basketball Heads To San Diego Surf & Slam Tournament Saturday To Face Aztecs

San Diego—The UC Riverside Women's Basketball Team prepares for the San Diego Surf & Slam Tournament beginning with a 2 pm PT tilt at San Diego State on Saturday, December 28. The Highlanders will then face off against either Kansas State or North Carolina State on December 30 to conclude the tournament.

UCR looks to snap a four-match skid following a most recent three-game road swing which saw them lose at nationally ranked Gonzaga, and at two Pac-12 teams in Washington State and Arizona.

Brittany Crain continues to pace the Highlanders offense averaging 18.9 points per game, while Natasha Hadley averages 12.0 and Annelise Ito and Simone DeCoud both average 10.7 ppg.

San Diego State began the year 0-4 but has since gone 2-2 with victories over UC Santa Barbara and Miami (OH). Cierra Warren leads the Aztecs' scoring load with 14.4 points per game, while the next four players all average between 7.0 and 8.1 points.

SDSU is 7-5 all-time against UC Riverside, including winning each of the last two contests in 2008 and 2009 (view all-time results).
