Riverside—The UC Riverside Women's Basketball Team moved above .500 with its 19-point victory over Bakersfield on Tuesday (box score/recap/video), and looks to make it three in a row as Pepperdine heads to the Inland Empire on Friday, December 6 for a 7 pm PT tip.
The Highlanders boast four players averaging double-digit scoring led by 18.7 from Brittany Crain. Simone DeCoud is averaging 13.0 ppg with Annelise Ito at 12.6, and Natasha Hadley averaging 12.4.
UCR is putting up a league-leading 77.0 points per game—its highest in the Division I history of the program—while shooting 43.9 percent from the field.
After winning two of its first three games, Pepperdine has dropped five consecutive bringing a 2-6 overall record into Friday's game. The Waves most recently lost to a pair of Big West foes, Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara, by 13 and eight points respectively. Pepperdine also boasts four players averaging double figures in scoring led by Bria Richardson's 16.6 ppg.
Although the Highlanders are just 4-11 all-time against the Waves, they have won three of the last four, including an eight-point win one year ago, 79-71, on November 12 (view all-time results).
