Women's Tennis Bested 5-2 By No. 65 Hawai'i

Riverside—The UC Riverside Women's Tennis Team returned to Big West Conference play Thursday afternoon with a 5-2 loss to No. 65 Hawai'i at Andulka Park.
The doubles point was close in each of the three matches, but the Rainbow Wahine came away with the sweep winning 8-4 at numbers one and three, and 9-8 at number two.
In singles,Taylor Raney earned the first point for the Highlanders as she won 2-3 injured, retired over Xenia Suworowa at number two.
At #5, Kate Bergeson won her first set 6-4 before falling 6-4 in the second set, but rallied in the tiebreaker to win 11-9, giving the Highlanders the second point of the day.
That was all the points UC Riverside garnered, however, as the Wahine took the other four singles matches in the victory.
Next up for the Highlanders is a Saturday, February 23 match against Point Loma Nazarene at 11 am PT in San Diego, CA.
