Gastao Wins At #2 Singles In Highlanders Lone Point Against Saint Mary's

Los Angeles, CA - Luis Gastao won the lone point for the UC Riverside Men's Tennis Team Saturday afternoon in a 6-1 loss to Saint Mary's.

The Gaels won the first point of the match with 8-3 victories at numbers two and three doubles, and an 8-1 win at number one.

In singles, Gastao defeated Joakim Norstrom 6-3, 6-3 at number two, earning the Highlanders their first point of the match. Marcus Vizcarra at #6 went to three sets before falling to Thomas Hunt, 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, and the other four singles matches went in favor of Saint Mary's for the victory.

UC Riverside now returns to the Inland Empire for a five-match homestand beginning on Monday, March 4 against Vanguard at noon at Andulka Park.
