Women's Basketball Faces Cal Poly At 4 PM PT Thursday

Riverside, CA—The UC Riverside Women’s Basketball Team is in a must-win situation, as only eight conference squads advance to the Big West Tournament, and the Highlanders are currently tied for ninth with Cal State Fullerton.
UCR has its hands full this Thursday, February 28 though, as Cal Poly heads to the Inland Empire for a 4 pm PT tip at the SRC Arena.
The Mustangs are second in the league with a 10-4 record, and defeated the Highlanders by a score of 79-56 back on February 2 (box score/recap). Cal Poly has won three straight and seven of its last eight, and are led offensively by the 6-5 Molly Schlemer, who averages 12.6 points and 6.6 boards a game.
UC Riverside’s Tre’Shonti Nottingham paces the team with 18.2 points per game, with Brittany Crain scoring 13.6, and Natasha Hadley averaging 11.1 ppg.
The Mustangs have won the the last three meetings between the teams, but UC Riverside still owns the all-time series record, 32-29 (view all-time results).
