Riverside—The UC Riverside Women's Basketball Team has just one game on its docket this week, hosting Cal State Northridge on Thursday, January 30 for a 7 pm PT tip at the SRC Arena.
UCR has scored above 60 points in all six of its league games—averaging 69.5 ppg—but gives up 81.0. Sophomore Brittany Crain had her streak of 26 straight games scoring in double-figures snapped at Cal Poly last weekend, but continues to pace the conference in scoring with 19.1 points per game.
Cal State Northridge is currently tied for the second-most wins in conference play with four. The Matadors most recently defeated Long Beach State, 77-54, to improve their league record to 4-2, and their overall record to 8-12. After posting a 2-7 record to open the season, CSUN has since gone 6-5.
The Matadors' top three scorers are all guards, led by Ashlee Guary's 15.1 points per game. Cinnamon Lister is a close second at 14.7 ppg, while Janae Sharpe rounds out the trio averaging 10.9 points per game.
UC Riverside owns the all-time series record against CSUN, 31-27, but the Matadors have won the last four straight. Prior to that, the Highlanders ran off nine consecutive wins from the 2007 through 2011 seasons (view all-time results).
