Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision At #23 Long Beach State

Long Beach, CA - The UC Riverside Volleyball Team lost a 3-0 contest to No. 23 Long Beach State on Friday evening by the scores of 25-13, 25-14 and 25-15.
Ashley Cox and Alex Gresham both recorded six kills for UCR (2-17, 0-7), while Alex Reid and Chisom Okpala had nine for the league-leading 49ers (17-4, 7-0).
Long Beach led from start to finish in both the first and second sets, but in the third, the Highlanders put up a fight early going up 7-3. UCR still led by two, 9-7, a few points later, but LBSU scored four straight and seven of the next eight to retake the lead, 14-10.
It was still a four-point advantage, 18-14, later in the frame when the 49ers closed out the match on a 7-1 run to win 25-15.
UC Riverside remains on the road to face CSUN on Saturday at 7 pm PT in Northridge, CA.
