Fullerton, CA - The UC Riverside Volleyball Team dropped a close three-set contest at Cal State Fullerton Saturday evening in Big West Conference action.

The Highlanders (2-23, 0-13) had a balanced offensive scoring attack as Cristina Maietta recorded 10 kills while Alex Gresham and Megan Reza each added six. Niki Withers posted a match-high 22 kills to lead the Titans (8-18, 2-11).

When these squads faced each other earlier this season, CSF came away with a four-set win, 25-20, 29-27, 23-25 and 25-22. UCR looked to even the season series Saturday evening, but fell just shy losing by the scores of 25-16, 26-24 and 25-19.

There were 20 total tie scores and eight lead changes throughout the entire match, with sets two and three seeing the most with nine and seven ties respectively.

UC Riverside now returns home for a pair of matches starting on Thursday, November 20 against CSUN. The 7 pm PT contest will be broadcast live on ESPN3 as part of the Big West Conference fall lineup.
