2/7/2014 7:19:00 PM | Men's Tennis
Sacramento, CA - The UC Riverside Men's Tennis Team dropped a 7-0 decision at Sacramento State on Friday afternoon.
The Hornets won in doubles at numbers one and three for the first point of the match, and earned straight set wins in five of the six singles matches. UCR's Calvin Ngo rallied back from a 6-2 first-set loss to win 6-4 in the second, but fell in the tiebreaker, 10-8, at #5.
"We played a tough match today," Head Coach Tim Downey stated "Though we may have felt overmatched, we were right there in four of the matches and easily could have surprised them. More work ahead and we will continue to improve."
The Highlanders remain in Northern California to take on UC Davis on Saturday, February 8 at 2vpm in the team's first Big West Conference match of the year.
