Men's Tennis Plays at the SRC for the First Time in Two Years, Drops Match, 5-2

Riverside—The UC Riverside Men's Tennis Team hosted Sacramento State Friday afternoon at the SRC, located on UCR's campus. It is the first match the Highlanders have played on campus in two years, having temporarily been relocated to Andulka Park. UCR fell short of a homecoming win, 5-2.

"UCR is on the verge of a major break through," said head coach Tim Downey. "It's going to be a great year for us."

Michael Carella and Marcus Vizcarra took their matches in three sets each against Marek Marksoo and Kasparas Zemaitelis at the No. 4 and No. 5 spots, respectively, earning UC Riverside's two points.

UC Riverside hits the road, traveling to Las Vegas for a four-match series beginning against New Mexico State Friday, Feb. 6 at 10 am PT.
