Highlanders Win Battle At The Rock Tournament

Riverside— The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team won the Battle At The Rock Tuesday afternoon after three rounds of competition.

The Highlanders fired a team total 887 after registering a score of 293 in rounds one and two, and 301 in the final round. UC Riverside finished 45 strokes in front of second place Cal Poly.

At the conclusion of the tournament Highlanders Hannah Facchini and Brittani Ferraro were tied at 220 each and were heading into a playoff to decide a winner. It was Facchini who came out the individual winner of the tournament after replaying the 16th hole at the Oak Quarry Country Club. This week marked the first tournament win in the freshman's young career.

Seven Highlanders finished in the top-20 out of a total field of 42 individuals.

The Highlanders return to the links Sunday, April 19 for the Big West Championship.
