Simi Valley, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Golf Team readies for the Bill Cullum Invitational October 17-18. The tournament takes place at Wood Ranch Golf Club, site of the Highlanders' 2016 Big West Championship triumph in May (story).
In the team's last event, Matt Lutz shot an even par 71 in the final round of the Nick Watney Invitational at San Joaquin Country Club to finish tied for third, while the team finished eighth (story).
Last season in the CSUN hosted tournament, UCR finished ninth out of 16 teams (story).
The tournament begins with a shotgun start Monday at 7:45 am with 36 holes, followed by Tuesday's final 18, with scheduled tee times based on Monday's finish.
Lutz, Luke Park, Pachara Sakulyong, Andrew Spilman, and Michael Wong are scheduled to tee it up for the Highlanders.
The 15-team field is comprised of Cal Poly*, Cal State Fullerton*, CSU Bakersfield, CSUN*, Long Beach State*, Loyola Marymount, Pacific, Seattle, Southern Utah, UC Irvine*, UC Riverside*, UC Santa Barbara*, Utah, Utah State, and Weber State.
