Softball Hosts Southern Utah, Boston U And Yale In Mizuno Invitational Friday

Riverside, CA—The UC Riverside Softball Team hosts its final tournament of the 2016 season this week, when they welcome Boston University, Southern Utah and Yale in the Mizuno Invitational March 11-13 at Amy S. Harrison Field.
The schedule is as follows:
Gates open one hour prior to the first game of the day, and fans can park in Lot 24 on Friday, and Saturday. Sunday Lot 24 will be CLOSED Campus Map

The Highlanders are coming off of a pair of victories over Toledo Tuesday, 5-3, 3-2, which pushed thier winning streak to 10 games--a Big West era record.
UCR's .977 fielding percentage ranks 11th in the nation and their 1.91 stolen bases per game is 29th. Maddie Richard's .486 batting average ranks 32nd in the nation and is third the Big West conference. Her 18 stolen bases places her 18th nationally. Tayler Misfeldt's nine victories on the season are tied for 14th in the country, while Kaylynn Pierce's eight wins places her in a tie for 24th
Haley Harris' 11 sacrifice hits are third nationally, averaging .48 per game. Freshman Hannah Rodriguez remians tied for the lead nationally as the toughest to strikeout, having not yet gone down on strikes in her 61 at bats this season.
In the 2014 Mizuno Invitational, the last time the event was held, UCR went 3-1 and picked up victories over Sacred Heart and Loyola Chicago.
