Riverside—The UC Riverside Men's Basketball Team honored its two seniors—Jaylen Bland and Steven Jones—prior to tip off of the Highlanders' regular season finale vs. UC Irvine, Saturday afternoon, and they almost continued the celebration well into the evening, as they built a 10-point second-half lead against the number two team in the Big West. But the Anteaters closed the game on a 24-4 run to escape with a 76-66 victory.
With the loss, UC Riverside finishes conference play with a 5-11 mark giving them the number six seed in next week's Big West Tournament at Honda Center in Anaheim. UCR takes on three seed Long Beach State in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 10 at 8:30 pm PT.
