Riverside—The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced last week that UC Riverside's Rachel Tice earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors for the 2015-16 season.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, a student athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
- For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
- For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
Tice, a psychology major from Chico, California, established career marks in the Shot Put (14.71m) and the Hammer Throw (55.41m) this season. She went on to participate in the Shot Put at NCAA West Regionals. The senior was also UC Riverside's NCAA Woman of the Year nominee.

Including the Scholar Athletes of the Year, a total of 910 women from 192 institutions earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2015-16 track & field season.
