Women's Golf Improves To 10th After Final Round Of Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown

Las Vegas, NV—The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team concluded the UNLV Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown in 10th place Tuesday, improving two places during the final round.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
Final Round
UC Riverside tied for the seventh most birdies in the third round with 10.

Julia Sander's 15 pars in the third round were tied for the most of the day. She also tied for third on the Par 3s, shooting one-under par, and the Par 4s, shooting even par.

Overall
Jakeishya Le was the top finisher for the Highlanders for the third time in the last three tournaments, coming in 24th at two over par. She was three over on the par threes for the tournament, which was tied for the 16th best scored for the tournament. Her nine birdies over the three days were the ninth most.

Julia Sander charted her best three-round score of the season, and second-best finish of her career, finishing with a 222. Her career-best 221 came at the Bobcat Invitational, April 10-11, 2017 (Recap). Her third-round total of 71 was the second best round of her career, behind her 69 at the Bobcat Invitational on April 10, 2017.

Sander's 39 pars were tied for the sixth most of the invitational. Hana Furuichi and Kayla Kwong tied for ninth overall in pars with 38 pars. Hannah Facchini tied for 19th overall in pars with 37.

Julia Sander and Kayla Kwong were both one under par on the Par 3s, which was tied for the 11th best scored of the tournament.

The Highlanders 180 pars were tied for the fourth most of the event.

The other Big West team that competed in the tournament was Long Beach State, who finished ninth, five shots ahead of the Highlanders.
