Riverside, CA— The UC Riverside Volleyball Team (9-13, 1-9) dropped a straight-set decision to third-place UC Irvine (20-4, 8-3) at home Thursday evening.

SET ONE (25-19, UCI)
Key Runs: Trailing 24-13, the Highlanders won the next six points, but the Anteaters still closed out the set.

SET TWO (25-18, UCI)
Key Runs: At 9-7, UC Irvine won the next five points to take a lead they would never relinquish.

SET THREE (25-20, UCI)
Key Runs: The Highlanders and Anteaters tied 13 times, the last of which at 16. At 21-20, the Anteaters won the next four straight points to take the set.

GAME NOTES
Chelsea Doyle logged double-digit assists with 26, and had 17 digs. Doyle has had double-doubles 12 of the 22 matches this season.

Doyle now has 2,597 career assists and trails Christi Karsten ('94) in fourth place by 11 assists.

Fabiana Rosas led the Highlanders with 10 kills during the match. Kaiulani Ahuna and Yuliya Ushakova each followed with 7 kills apiece.
