Volleyball Falls 3-0 To Bryant In Titan Tournament

Doyle Posts 41 Assist-16 Dig Double-Double
Fullerton,CA–In their first match of the day, the UC Riverside Volleyball Team (1-1) fell in a tight, 3-0, sweep at the hands of Bryant (1-1), 23-25, 26-28, 21-25.
The first was tied at 22 apiece, before the Bulldogs took three of the final four points in claiming the opening set 25-23.
In the second frame, the clubs were once again deadlocked at 22. Bryant then picked up two quick, however the Highlanders staved off two set points to tie the set at 24. UCR had a set point of their own at 25-24, but failed to convert. With the scored tied at 26, the Bulldogs got back-to-back kills to win the set 28-26.
The third and final set saw UCR get outscored, 6-2, after being tied at 19 apiece to fall 25-21, 3-0 for the match.
Junior setter Chelsea Doyle led the way for Highlanders with a 41 assist-16 dig double-double. Brooke Callahan had 13 kills, and Nicole Rodriguez tallied a career-high 23 digs in the loss.
UC Riverside next faces Drake at 7:30 pm in the Titan Tournament finale.
