Riverside—The UC Riverside Volleyball Team took visiting Hawai'i to five sets for the first time in its 23-match history, but the Rainbow Wahine escaped with the 3-2 victory.
SET ONE (25-20, UCR)
Key Runs: The Highlanders trailed 18-13, but closed out the set by winning 12 of the last 14 points. Kaiulani Ahuna had four kills during the run and Brooke Callahan added three.
SET TWO (25-19, UCR)
Key Runs: Leading 13-11, the Highlanders scored the next three points, and led by at least three the rest of the way.
SET THREE (25-20, HI)
Key Runs: UC Riverside led 17-16, but the Rainbow Wahine scored the next three points to take a lead they would never relinquish.
SET FOUR (25-19, HI)
Key Runs: Hawai'i scored the first three points and never trailed in the set.
SET FIVE (15-7, HI)
Key Runs: Hawai'i led 5-4 and scored the next five points to take control of the set.
GAME NOTES
Kaiulani Ahuna recorded double-digit kills for the ninth time this season, with a career-high 21. That is the highest number of kills for a member of the Highlanders since Mickayla Sherman collected 26 vs. UC Santa Barbara in October 14, 2016 (

The Highlanders had only won four sets from Hawai'i in the 22 previous meetings between the clubs.
Chelsea Doyle's 43 assists are her most since she notched 46 vs. San Diego State on September 15 (
