RIVERSIDE, Calif.—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer team travels to Cal State Northridge on Sunday trying for its second conference win. The game marks the Highlanders' fifth Big West conference matchup and second on the road.
The Highlanders (10-1-3) played to a 1-1 draw in double overtime against UC Irvine on Thursday, bringing their conference record to 1-1-2, which currently ranks sixth. The Matadors (5-5-1) are 1-2 so far in conference play.

SCOUTING THE MATADORS
The Matadors snapped a two-game skid with a 2-1 victory over Cal State Fullerton last Sunday. CSUN is led on offense by senior Marissa Favela, who leads the team with four goals this season. She scored a late goal on Sunday against Cal State Fullerton. Favela moved into a 10th place tie with Melissa Cleal (1999-02) on the Matadors' all-time career scoring list with 11 goals.
DEFENSIVE DIFFERENCE MAKER
As a team, the Highlanders lead the Big West with 10 shutouts and a 0.24 GAA. Junior goalkeeper Annie Bailey has a conference-best 0.30 GAA and seven shutouts to go with 43 saves.
LAST TIME OUT
The Highlanders took a 1-0 loss at home to CSUN last season. The team also had a 3-0 loss to the Matadors in the semifinals of the Big West tournament last season. The last win for UCR vs. CSUN came on Oct. 13, 2016.
