Falling in three of its first four doubles matches, UCR would not be able to overcome its three point deficit despite winning the last two matches of the day. Tracy Van won her No. 6 match (3-6, 6-1, 6-4) and Chloe Pham won her No. 4 match 6-4, 6-7, 1-0 (11-9) to end the day.

Freshman Tia Elpusan and junior Tracy Van lead the Highlanders in singles wins, each with 4-2 records for 2018.

"The team did a great job of staying focused and giving 100% effort, we just came up a point or two short in a couple matches. It was a very tough weekend, but we're really improving," said Coach Mark Henry.
