Track and Field to Compete in Husky Classic and Don Kirby Invitational

Seattle, WA – This weekend, the Men's and Women's UC Riverside Track & Field Teams will send athletes to compete in two separate meets. Three athletes are set to head to Seattle, Washington to compete in the UW Husky Classic and a medley of the Highlanders will set out for Albuquerque, New Mexico for the Don Kirby Invitational.

UW Husky Classic
On Friday night at 5:30 pm, both senior Weslie Pearce and junior Emily Sanchez will be competing in the women's elite 5000m. Pearce currently holds the indoor school record in the women's 5000m run from last year's MPSF Championship with a time of 16:47.31.

On Saturday, senior Faith Makau will be pulling double duty as she will compete in the women's 1-mile run at the elite section of the women's 800m at. Faith is returning to action in Seattle after running the 2^nd fastest mile in school history (4:49.11) at the UW Invitational 2 weeks ago.

The Don Kirby Invitational will play host to over 40 different schools at the University of New Mexico Track and Field Facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
