Riverside, Calif.— The UC Riverside Men's Tennis Team (9-11) fell 5-2 in a home match to the College of Charleston Sunday afternoon.
The Highlander got out to a great start winning the doubles point with matches on courts one and two. The duo of 
Pawel Jankowiak and 
Gilbert Chung topped their opponents on court one 6-2, and the team of 
Kyle McCann and Fillip Engstrom followed with a 6-4 win on court two to put UCR up 1-0.
In the singles round, the College of Charleston would claim five matches to take the win, but McCann would add to his successful day.
Playing on court two, McCann defeated his opponent in straight sets of 6-0, 6-4 ti give UCR a singles win.
The Highlanders are back in action next week as they will head out for a seven-match road trip before returning to begin conference play. UCR's first matchup is with North Carolina A&T on Monday, March 26th at 9:00 AM.
