Riverside, Calif.— The UC Riverside Men's Tennis (14-13, 0-1) fell in its Big West opener to Cal Poly (14-5, 2-0) 6-1, ending a four match win streak.
The Mustangs took two doubles matches and five singles matches in the overall win, but sophomore
Gilbert Chung was a bright spot on the day for the Highlanders. On court five, Chung took a straight set victory downing Cal Poly's Alexander Stater 6-3, 6-4.
Freshman
Vignesh Subramanyan had a strong outing on court six winning the first set 6-4, but fell 6-7 in the second and was edged out in the 10 point tiebreaker 4-10.
The Highlanders will be back in action next Sunday at Pepprdine.
