GOODYEAR, Ariz. – UC Riverside Women's Golf put together one of its best two-round stretches of the season to close out the Bobcat Desert Invitational in Arizona, finishing in third-place led for the second straight tournament by Hannah Facchini.

No golfer out of the other 85 in competition was better over the final two rounds than Facchini, who was a -7 over Rounds 2 and 3 combined. The senior finished with a score of 2-under 214, moving up four spots on the final day to take second-place overall.

Facchini began the final round positioned in sixth-place, which is where junior Jakeishya Le who would end the day. Le finished 4-over par, charting her team-leading third top-10 finish of the year.

Prior to Tuesday, Le had UCR's only other top-five finish of the year, when she took fifth at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate back in October of 2017.

Junior Hana Furuichi tied for 31st overall, ending the competition with a score of 14-over 230. She was the best in the field on Par 3, finishing with a -2 on an average score of 2.83.

Rounding out the lineup were senior Julia Sander and sophomore Hailey White, who were a +16 and +18, respectively.

As a team, the Highlanders ended the tournament 27 strokes over par, good for their third-lowest total of the season. They were at their best on Par 4, where they were a +30 for the third-best score among 16 teams in the field. The Highlanders also finished the third-most birdies (34) – 11 of which came from Facchini, who also nabbed one of the tournament's three eagles.

This was UC Riverside's final competition ahead of the Big West Championship, which will be held Sunday-Tuesday, April 15-17 at the Strawberry Farms Golf Course in Irvine, CA.
