On March 21st, freshman Tia Elpusan captured her first career Big West Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week award after going 6-0 between singles and doubles. Elpusan posted a 3-0 record at No. 2 singles.  She won twice in three sets, including a 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 decision against Southern Utah's Zoe Tanti.  She also outlasted Bradley's Malini Wijesinghe in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. The freshman helped the Highlanders to a 2-1 record for the week as they defeated Bradley (7-0) and Drake (4-3) and effectively snapped a 13-match skid.  With partner Sara Khattab at No. 1 doubles, the duo went 3-0 against their opponents, and have now won five straight matches.
