San Luis Obispo, Calif.— The UC Riverside Women's Tennis Team (4-16) fell 7-0 on the road to Cal Poly (5-11) in Sunday's conference dual match. The Mustangs claimed the double point and six singles matches on the Mustang Tennis Courts.
Senior Chloe Pham was a bright spot on the day winning nine games on court four before falling 7-5, 6-4 to Grace Olyphant. Pham iced the first set at 5-5 and nearly repeated her efforts in the second set winning four games.
Sophomore Sara Khattab forced extra games in her second set on court three, threatening a tiebreaker before falling 6-2, 7-5 to Molly Reed.
The Highlanders will be back in action this weekend as they head to Hawaii for two dual matches. Friday, UCR will face Chaminade (0-7) at 2:00 PM before seeing conference foe Hawaii (8-6) the following day at 2:00 PM.
