BROOKLYN, N.Y.— After a couple of tough matches for the UC Riverside Men's Tennis Team, the Highlanders bounced back on their first east coast trip of the season sweeping St. Francis Brooklyn 7-0.

UCR was truly dominant in the matchup with the Terriers winning every game on the day.

In doubles play, the team of juniors Nabil Abdallah and Gilbert Chung had the most impressive for the Highlanders topping the St. Francis team of Grant Louis and Daniel Blasco 6-1 on court three. UCR would also grab courts one and two by identical scores of 6-4.

The Highlanders brought the same fire power to singles play with every player winning in straight sets. Sophomore David Ramirez was the first off the court dropping Louis  6-1, 6-1.

Chung was well in control of his matchup on court three allowing Tomas Dirube just seven games in a 6-3, 6-4 win and senior captain Kyle McCann erupted in the first set of his 6-1, 7-5 court one victory over Guillermo Artiz.

Freshman Andres Whelan-Merediz, junior Nabil Abdallah, and sohphomore  Vignesh Subramanyan would battle to hard fought wins on the remaining courts to give UCR the perfect 7-0 sweep.

UC RIverside will look for its second straight tomorrow at Coppin State.
