Women's Golf Set to Compete in Grand Canyon Invitational

PHOENIX—The UC Riverside Women's Golf team will play this weekend with revenge on its mind. Â
Grand Canyon University finished first last week in the Battle at the Rock, which is the yearly tournament hosted by UCR. The team will look to return the favor at the Grand Canyon Invitational, which begins on Saturday.
The GCU Golf Course, formally known as the Maryvale Golf Course, is a 6,059-yard, Par 72 layout. Play begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. The teams will play 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday.

It is a crowded field this year, with 20 different teams competing. Coming from far and wide, some of the schools include: North Dakota State, Eastern Washington University and the University of Toledo.
UCR will play against a ton of familiar teams, including Big West foes CSUN and Hawaii. Montana State, CSU Bakersfield and Cal Baptist also competed in Battle at the Rock.
UCR's lineup will include: Jakeishya Le, Hailey White, Ping Huang, Hana Furuichi and Serena Chon.
The Highlanders were led by Le during Battle at the Rock. She finished tied for 18th after shooting a combined 222 (+6).
