Women's Tennis Wins 2nd Straight Sweeping Quinnipiac

RIVERSIDE, Calif.—The UC Riverside Women's Tennis Team earned its second straight win Friday morning as the Highlanders swept visiting Quinnipiac 7-0. UCR has been truly tough as of late wining three of their last four and notching five on the year, a feat the team did not accomplish lase season until mid-April.

"We had a very solid match today," Head Coach Mark Henry said. "We came out quick in doubles and stayed focused into singles. It was a really nice win for us leading into the break."

The Highlander duo of junior Lauren Wolfe and freshman Lindsey Gelinas got things going with a perfect 6-0 win on court three doubles and the team of sophomore Tia Elpusan and junior Sara Khattab sealed the opening point taking court one 6-1.

UCR was lights out in singles play as five Highlanders earned straight set victories. Elpusan grabbed a 6-1, 7-5 win on court two to go undefeated in this week of action and seal the win over Quinnipiac.

Wolfe completed the clean 7-0 sweep with a come from behind win on court six 3-6, 6-2, 10-6.
