**UPDATE: Saturday Doubleheader at The Plex**

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The force wasn't with the UC Riverside Baseball this past weekend in Long Beach. May the 4th weekend saw the dark side (Long Beach) take the series against the Highlanders. The offense, their usual strength, wasn't able to get going throughout the weekend.

Junior Connor Cannon became the first Big West player in history to win three striaght Big West Player of the Week awards. He tied a UCR record for most home runs in a season, 16, vs. UCSB on April 28. He also set the UCR career home run record (31) and has added to that lead with 34 now. He leads the Big West with 16 home runs and slugging percentage, .731. The junior has a monster slash line of .345/.454/.731.
 
Last Week: UNLV, @ Long Beach State (3)
The Highlanders came away with a victory in their Tuesday evening game versus UNLV as the bats were hot with 11 runs. The weekend high of beating top-10 ranked UCSB wore off after their victory vs. UNLV as they struggled vs Long Beach State. The bats went silent as they were only able to put together six runs on the weekend.
