SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. –Taking its first set at Mott Athletics Center since 2017 with a 25-22 third frame would not be enough as UC Riverside was defeated by Cal Poly in four sets Saturday afternoon in the second Big West meeting of the season between the Highlanders and Mustangs.
 
Amarachi Osuji hit .250 with 13 kills, 17 digs and 3 aces, and Zoey Seput contributed 14 digs for the Highlanders (6-20, 2-14 Big West), who had gone 10 straight matches without a set won before Saturday at Cal Poly (13-14, 11-5 Big West).
 
The back end of the Highlanders' four-match road trip continues at CSUN Friday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m., with another immediate turnaround to play at UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m.
 
The return to SRC Arena for UC Riverside is a Thanksgiving Eve meeting Wednesday night, Nov. 24, vs. Cal State Fullerton at 7 p.m. before the conclusion of the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 27, with a 5 p.m. scheduled first serve at home against Long Beach State.
