RIVERSIDE, Calif. – UC Riverside finished off a four-match home stand on Thursday night at the SRC Arena, falling 3-0 to Hawaii.
UC Riverside fell behind quickly in set one, but used a fierce 10-3 run with two service aces and four kills to tie the set at 19 before ultimately dropping a spirited first frame.
Isabella Scarlett took the majority of UCR's swings on the night, ending her evening with seven kills on 30 attempts, while Tayler Hifo came four digs shy of fourth consecutive double double with 21 assists and six digs. The Highlanders recorded 17 digs each across sets one and two, holding Hawaii to an .094 hitting percentage in set two.
Makena Tong has now recorded five assists in her last four matches after logging two against the Rainbow Wahine on Thursday evening.
UC Riverside will go back on the road for two matches after a season-long home stand and an eight-day break, battling UC Irvine on Friday, November 4.
