Clark, Hernandez Earn United Soccer Coaches All-Region Honors

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – First Team All-Big West honorees Brendan Clark and Leopoldo Hernandez earned more hardware on Tuesday after earning United Soccer Coaches All-Far West Region recognition, it was announced Tuesday by the national office.Â
Clark was named to the Second Team after ranking in the top 10 in the Big West in shots on goal, goals, assists and points. The Stetson transfer, who tied a program single-match record with nine shots at CSUN on September 28, logged two goals and an assist in the Highlanders' 4-0 rout of UC Irvine on October 12.Â
Hernandez flirted with the program record book with nine assists on the year and had two matches this year with two assists before assisting on Clark's goal in the Big West semifinal win over CSUN.Â
UC Riverside won the Big West regular season and postseason titles before falling to Portland in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, capping one of the most historic seasons in program history and the Highlanders' second NCAA appearance in program history.Â
