UC Riverside continued Big West play Saturday on the islands with a 76-57 loss to Hawaii at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Keilanei Cooper got started early with UCR's first two buckets of the game, as the Highlanders jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead with Cooper going 2 of 3 from the field to start her night. The senior set a new program record on Saturday with her 125th game in a Highlander uniform.

After Hawaii went on a run to play offensive catchup and go ahead, a Jordan Webster three near the end of the first quarter brought UCR back to within striking distance. Webster and Cooper led the Highlanders after a quarter with four points apiece as UC Riverside remained within striking distance.

UCR made up for a slow start to the second quarter, hitting four of four shots from the field. Cooper, Webster and Jada Holland led UCR with six points apiece at halftime. Holland reached double digit scoring for the fifth consecutive game, ending with 14 points on 7-of-15 shooting.

After Hawaii got a quick layup out of the halftime break, UCR's defense held the Rainbow Wahine scoreless for 2:17 as the Highlanders eventually ended the third quarter on a 9-2 run to narrow the gap.

UC Riverside shot 53.3 percent in the fourth quarter with Olivia West recording seven of her eight points in the final frame and Matehya Bryant scoring eight of her 10 points in the second half.
